Sounds like Keystone has been a whole bunch of knee jerk reaction type of planning.

I wonder if the pipeline would be big enough to flush the protesters through it?

The Obama regime will never approve the Keystone XL, so why not just build the transmission lines and be done with it.

The only ones that this will benefit is our greedy & corrupt lawmakers. This will put more money into their campaigns. This is why the price of gas & oil is so high today.

Jrsva - The XL pipeline is designed for more then just the Tar Sands bitumen; Canada has many grades of crude oil, no different the America. The pipeline is also slated to carry these conventional crude oils from many conventional pumping rigs throughout western Canada and the U.S. XL also includes the Bakken oil formation that is situated both in the Canada and the U.S.! The Canadian oil is just that and it should not be consider part of the American import/export quotas. It was my understanding that Canada was preparing to utilize U.S gulf coast refineries to crack this oil into refined products; that could be sold to the any world markets, including the U.S. Canada was preparing to ship by pipeline; no different then Venezuela shipping their crude to America for refining by oil tanker; Canada was going to utilize pipeline! Crudemonitor.ca - Grades of crude assay's in Canada! We are more then Tar Sands!!

The Canadians should just say, "to hell with this". Instead if a pipeline, build a new Refinery, on the Canadian side of the border and sell the refined product, into the states.

We should make this pipeline in three sections, not two... They're working on the South section from TX to OK... We need the middle section from ND to OK to be build, not need for WH approval... As for the North section from ND to Canada, DC can drag their feet a very long time...

The CBS Evening News reported on the pipeline tonight (2/18). They reported progress on the underground installation of the pipeline in Texas. A rancher declined the cash offer for the pipleline crossing her land and TransCanada has filed a lawsuit against her. The other rancher in the report was pleased as punch about his payout and he would let them in again.
With an underground pipleline, how is a leak going to be detected?

Don’t waste time and money building power lines for a pipeline project that will not happen. The XL pipeline would not benefit US citizens in any way aside from the construction jobs. It would carry destructive and toxic tar sands material to the Gulf coast for refining and export, leaving the US to deal with the refinery waste and any leaks and spillage. Any reasoned analysis will find that there is no there there.

so if I understand this. They could run the pipeline to the border, not cross it and no Presidential permission is needed. So should Obama not sign it, they could build the pipeline with an end a few miles short. Then run non-stop tanker trucks to fill in big storage tanks that drain into the pipeline. Of course THAT would burn more fuel and defeat the point the protesters are trying to make ;)

Hey WIPACKERFAN they aren't working for a big corporation or else it would get done. "It's never been done before. That's OK I know you can do it. I'll give you 200 resources and I want it in two months, period!". : 0
