Just like the use of crude oil goes up, the supply goes down and the price of fuel at the pump goes up. Big oil will maintain its profits without regard to your well being or your possible economic problems. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012

And the old promise of jobs is just more hot air, having been fairly well proven by now that those "green" energy companies and projects would only create a minimum of new jobs in the US, since much of the "green" products manufacturing would be off-shored. The president is not the victim here as described in the article, we are! The important thing barely mentioned in the article is that with domestic NG we can become more energy independent of our old Middle East suppliers and hopefully leave them and their never ending political problems behind. Yes the EU still needs to deal with them and Russia, but that's another matter.

Its main ingredient is methane, which is one of the worst pollutants, so allowing any of it to escape into the atmosphere unburned is bad.

Natural gas is nothing new and has been a staple fuel source for heating and cooking for the 70 years I have been on this earth. It died out a vehicle fuel several years back mainly because vehicles do not run near as well on natural gas as they do on gasoline or diesel. An engine designed to run strickly on natural gas could change that but the present conversions are not worth the effort. Hundreds of fleets in our area have changed back to gas and diesel fuel because it did not work out for the best and cheapest for fleet operations.

Now LNG or hydrate based NG storage would be OK as any released gas is cold enough or slow enough not to cause an explosion.
