in times of pending food shortage / rising food costs, EtOH should be pulled out of gasoline.

Perhaps the powers that be refuse to understand that most consumers don't want more ethanol in their fuel.
Food should fuel living beings, not motors!

"Legal and bureaucratic delays mean E15 is still out of reach for consumers, and a potential 7 billion gallon expansion of motor fuel market share remains elusive for ethanol producers."
Sounds like a feature, not a bug.

Go back to real gasoline. I just found out that real gasoline is in my area for $4.10. I am willing to pay the the difference for better gas milage and performance for my vehicle.

Lose the subsidy. If you can't make it on your own, then too bad. Stop force feeding.

Seems an awful lot of people are against ethanol. Too bad, they didn't all voice their concerns about it to their congressman and make it a political issue. We need our freedom back. Many of us don't have a choice at the pump and there is the "mandates" we need to get rid of! We don't need laws making them produce more ethanol that we don't need, so it is being exported! With the drought and corn drying up in the fields and prices rising, maybe that will be the end of ethanol profits? Either way, we get stuck at the store as everything is going up and up!

Let them stay frustrated!
Ethanol gives lower mileage, takes energy to produce (arguably more than it yields), raises the cost of food, and is bad for engines ....

I have this theory that E10 exists because without it we'd be running low on gasoline. If one assumes that the Ethanol portion of the fuel incorporates energy from Hydroelectric, Nuclear, Wind, and Coal sources, what we're seeing is a 10% extension of our Gasoline stocks – and if you think your Expedition costs a lot of money to fuel now, imagine how much that thing would cost if we were suddenly stuck with but 90% of the gas we have on hand.
Shift it up to E15, and you have another five percent extension of our Gasoline stocks. Yet more a subsidy of fuel – that much more we'd have to pay if every station had to go E0 (instead of having to go E15).
If we were stuck with E0 nationwide, we'd have to REALLY consider investing in mass transit because a whole lot more people would be unable to afford gas. We'd probably also have better food as much of the farmland being used for corn would be used for raising vegetables.

* The EPA is out of control. I should be able to pick E10, E15 or PURE GAS. In VA its regulated to E10 because basically Northern VA is so smoggy according to the EPA. So punish the whole State - typical Gument!!!!
Here in VA the Gas Spouts are regulated!!! Think I'm kidding? http://www.ezpourspout.com/gascanorder.html Its crazy! As I spill gas everywhere trying to use the EPA regulated spout that literally takes THREE HANDS; I smell like gas, My shoes smell like gas, the GROUND smells like gas - BUT I'm glad the EPA is protecting ME!!! Can you say "Idiots" boys n girls...
At least the typical Gument Stonewalling is working for the Public FOR ONCE!!!

The incompetents or idiots who put ethanol into fuels knowing it did engine damage and would lead to drastic increases in food prices, which hurt the poor and middle class worst, should be flogged daily and publicly at a whipping post.
