diesel8888 - "If we have the extras, why not. But keep prices low at the home front to stimulate the economy."
The whole point of exporting NG is to increase prices at home.

Plan for U.S. natural gas exports brings talk of economic boon, fears of failure? Big Oil and Big Gas continues to sell fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down! People will still drive and buy fuel no matter what but it sure helps to have a job too! The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their personal greedy benefit. There will Not be much cheaper fuel prices for the US. More refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel is! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

CNG price is much much higher overseas, so exporting NG makes a lot of sense. Canada and US have huge potential, too bad we can't have a piece of the pie.

TALK IS CHEAP. It will take 5 years to get the "Infrastructure" in place to EXPORT the "Natural Gas'' [Pipelines/Distribution Network/CNG facilities/Haulage/ etc.} All this stuff doesn't happen "OVERNIGHT".
And, how about "Environmental"issues and "Public" hearings.???

When all the fracking goes viral the water will go virus and you will be importing water at $ 4.00/gallon.

In many places around the world natural gas is 2 to 4 times the North American price. With the price difference it was only a matter of time before someone attempted to begin exporting natural gas.

Exporting OUR gas is like exporting OUR oil. It means we will have less in the future and will pay a higher price for OUR gas. Simple as that.

The race for profit will leave the USA with ashortage again. Fracking may be crerating a new source but it is likely the last source and if it is exported for the profit of companies, later on Customers will be paying more to heat their hmes. Better to develope it as you need it.

Perhaps we should design these facilities to handle outgoing and incoming LNG. A few short years ago we were looking at importing LNG. That day may come again.
