ah, right and how long have they been rising overall; never stops, occasionally, 1 or 2 cents decrease, afterwards, there are increases in multiples; incessant and never ending!

Perhaps a short reprieve before gearing up for winter heating oil needs.

Protest high gas prices--any gas priced above $2.50 per gallon!! Picket the 15 highest priced gas stations in your area!!

And as soon as they start to level out there will either be some minor disruption in supply or refineries will shut down for "routine" maintinance and the price will go back up 10x faster than it ever comes down.

I say you should keep your hands off the oil industry. As it stands now, the average oil company makes a profit of eight cents on every dollar of fuel they sell.
When I was working (since retired), our Finance people said the minimum acceptable level was ten and a half cents on every dollar of products and services we sold.
Needless to say, the company I used to work for was not in the oil business.

In the past month to 45 days gas has went from 2.829/10 to 3.209/10 at one station in SC. That is 38 cents a gallon.

It was a Dick Cheney fantasy for the funds wasted in Iraq to be an "oil investment."
And they wouldn't have to have spent tens of billions of dollars on the rebuilding of Iraq had saner heads prevailed and prevented the expenditure of billions of dollars on the destruction of Iraq.
