As long as Americans on average waste lots of energy, we will never be energy safe, let alone, independent.

in the long term, oil use will diminish. if a lot of people work in oil, 20 years from now, they will be out of a job or need to be retrained.

Good to see jobs and energy.
Don't let BHO & Co. find out or they'll squash both.

Oil is the U.S. Economic Life Blood. Yes, it would be nice to move off of Oil, but the Tech, and Markets are still Oil driven. The other energy tech still needs to be developed in order to replace oil and coal.

Yup...No thanks to worthless Obama. The man is truly "Green". By that I mean "Born Yesterday And Not Ripe For The Job".
The US Mid West will indeed open up to Shale Oil and Shale Gas. The East will open up to Shale Gas.
That's where the jobs are so...Get "Fracking" on with your job.

And people complain about the huge profits oil companies make. I'll take the increase in jobs and don't mind if it measn the oil companies making big bucks.

Let’s hope it does not bring with it an environmental disaster that would plague us for decades. Lots of nasty stuff being pumped into the ground without much evident concern.
