I think the scariest part about this is how many of us are willing to go to war instead of pay our bills

No! I think the scariest part about this is how many of us are willing to go to war instead of pay our bills, and how long our creditors have let us get away with it.

No. When Obama took office, reg gas was under $2. Now, we would be lucky if it went under $3. $4 per gal isn't as scary as it used to be.

This is off topic but brought up by the opposition to discredit the current administration. I tried to post these in January but failed. Let's hope it works today.
Obama Birth Certificate - long form
Obama Birth Certificate - short form
Just for the record. No matter how many see this, there'll be skeptics and naysayers.

No. How can a government spend money it doesn't have, and continue to sustain such policies? There's never been a household I know of that could ever do that.

Yes. Since we have a moderate for a President and we are electing fewer of those fascist Tea Partyers, things are improving.

Most definitely not!! At this point, almost everything related to the government is completely contrary to my values. So glad my hope DOES NOT rest in the government, but in the One who governs all things.

We are far from the right direction. To be heading in a positive direction we need to break away from OPEC and produce our own oil for gasoline. OPEC has total control over world oil but we can control our own oil. No need to jack the price up either, creates home jobs and makes auto travel more appealing. To pay anything over $3 dollars is ridiculous. $1.25-$1.50 is an acceptable range. And with US oil being the sole provider, the price range won't vary greatly from state to state but rather stabilize across the country

Eric1844: I am a conservative who voted for Gary Johnson. I knew he was a long shot to win, but my conscience is clear knowing that I did not contribute to the decay of our nation by not voting for either one of the elitists.

Obama failed us and I'm really not surprised. Being from the Bay State I already knew Romney was a shitty Governor so I had no faith in him either. I'm an Independent Libertarian and I'm open to voting for any party, but I voted for Gary Johnson. He had more executive experience than Obama and Romney combined and overall had a better message.
Sadly, the American voter is too stupid so my vote probably just went into the mist. Though I have no regrets because I didn't vote for either of the bickering and mentally challenged statists.

Slowly...VERY slowly but yes, we are. Although I think Americans have gotten a lot more involved in what happens in Washington over the last 20 years, we continue to allow such unproductive bickering in congress? True discussions withstanding. Simply put, there seems to be a lot of arguing for argument's sake.
I second Warren Buffet's recent statement, "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election."
Extend this "ineligible for re-election" consequence to a few more topics and we'd have a more productive government and get our act together a lot quicker.

Yes I think the country is headed in the right direction. The first step to solving a problem is recognizing it, in my opinion I think that has been done. What I think the largest problem is "how to resolve it" In my opinion NO ONE has presented anything close to resolving the problem mainly because of a lack of concern for what is happening to the people regardless of the ethnic, religious, sexual orientation. Until there is cooperation nothing is going to be resolved after all this country did not just end up in the situation it is in during the last 16 years it has been a steady progression and right now we are all in financial slavery until this is resolved.

Not the way Congress gets along. They are out of touch & reality how all of us live day to day. Maybe if they had our medical insurance they would understand. They need to have term limits.

Gasbudy truncates links that are too long and wordy so they don't work, but I asked for a "A real US birth certificate" so that link is not important anyway.

I believe Congress is not going to do their job until we, the people, hold them accountable for what they do and don't do. Most of them are in Congress to become rich. About 90% of people elected for a congressional seat enter their job as a mid class american and leave as a millionaire. Personal interest dominates the offices of Congress. STOP PARTISAN POLITICS and start solving the countries problems, we have plenty.
