Stations need no reason to raise prices........it's inevitable.

funny, now that Isaac has left and Kirk and Leslie are out at sea heading to Europe, gas is dropping about 10 cents (went up 30-40 at several stations here).

Actually, GREED is the REAL reason behind the gas bump. Isaac was just a convenient excuse. Oh BTW, it was NOT a small bump. I do not consider a .35ยข increase a small bump.

of course, it's also Labor Day weekend, the end of summer driving season, so the price should drop (by the way it has been in the past...)

clearly gouging since prices are now slowly dropping - at least gasoline. Diesel still too high.

40 cents is NOT a small bump, and it may not be done yet.

I don't think 20 - 30 cents is a SMALL bump.. that's closing in on 10% in a few days. I call that gouging.

"...as wholesale gasoline prices ceased two days of steep decline..."
Where was this steep decline? Not at the pump, that is for sure...

KEEP YOUR GAS TANKS (and gas-cans) FULL!... I've been posting this for almost four weeks. The "pundits" have misjudged or totally missed the supply/demand situation of gasoline. We've had no fewer than six refineries that have gone down with emergency repairs in the last month. A pipeline went down in this time. High or HIGHER prices are probable for the next 4-6weeks! In addition to these current production problems, we have a possible storm disruption. Maybe bigger, the Federal Reserve will be announcing that they are ready to do whatever it takes to keep the economy from recession.* This will put immediate pressure on the Dollar which increases oil prices. Be smart! Stay full!
*Fed Chairman speaks this Friday in Jackson Hole, Wy, addressing the Fed Reserve Conference. All financial markets worldwide will be watching. Dollar/energy markets may be directly affected

Don't you love how any excuse is used to immediately and sharply raise prices for something that may happen in the future? But it takes several days to weeks for prices to slowly trickle down...
The oil and gasoline industry is an effective monopoly and should be broken up...
