Re: Illinois ...highest gas prices... -- You are not imagining this. Just one look at the Gas Price Heat Map and the states with the highest gas prices are indeed "Blue states" -- The reason? Big Oil is buddies with the oil-rich Republicans of the South. So of course prices will be lower for their friends. Who do they hate? Yup! "Blue states -- Especially northern blue states. It's no coincidence if you noticed this -- And it's been this way since I've been on this site for the last two years.
