The 5.4 V8 Will get you 14 MPG thats city and highway mix driving. Forget the diesel the milage is about the same. This truck is a gas guzzler. Check the Nissan and Toyota before you buy.

Acutally the 5.4L is just as good and actually better in longevity than the 4.6L is.

The v6 is enough power, but the mileage is the same as a v8. For towing the v6 works too, but you should just get the v8 for moving across states. If you are towing regularly, I would get a diesel.

Don't even bother with the V6. From what I've read from many owners is that the V6 gets overworked and the V8's get the same if not better mileage. If your towing heavy (>5,000lbs) get the 5.4L, if less then 5k lbs the 4.6L should do you well.
