Isiah Thomas assembled a bad roster, and he's the latest Knicks coach to lose his job because he couldn't make it a winner.

Donnie Walsh is certain he will find plenty willing to try.
Thomas was fired Friday after a season of listless and dreadful basketball, a tawdry lawsuit and unending chants from fans demanding his dismissal.

What took so long?

Once again we see that great players don't always make great coaches.

I don't know why the Knicks gave him that job in the first place, it was obvious after 3 seasons with the Pacers, with much better players than he had in NY, Thomas could barely get them in the playoffs from 2000 to '03. Then Rick Carlisle comes along and gets 61 wins in '04 out of basically the same team Thomas could get only 40 to 45 wins with.

GOOD RIDDANCE!

I wonder is Stern has secretly made any imput into these Knicks' changes. It must've made him cringe seeing the once-proud team in the #1 market becoming a laughing stock.
