On Fox Sports Radio with "JT The Brick" the other night I heard talk of the Seattle Supersonics relocating, perhaps to Oklahoma City (where the Hornets played while New Orleans recovered from Hurricane Katrina) or Las Vegas. I've heard the Supersonics' owner, Clayton somebody (I forget!), is from OKC. What's the latest?

The hosts went on to suggest the NHL could expand or relocate an existing team to Seattle so the Key Arena (that's the Supersonics' arena, right?) can still host a sports team.

Sorry Seattle, there is no saving your Sonics. That's the feeling of NBA commissioner David Stern, who said Saturday he expects the SuperSonics to leave the city, either this year or when their lease expires in 2010.

"It's apparent to all who are watching that the Sonics are heading out of Seattle," Stern said during his annual All-Star weekend press conference. "I accept that inevitability at this point. There is no miracle here."

Stern revealed he encouraged the SuperSonics to make an offer to the city to buy out the remaining two years of the lease to Key Arena. He said the offer, made two days ago, approached $30 million and was rejected.

SEATTLE - Wally Szczerbiak and rookie Jeff Green each scored 18 points, and the Seattle SuperSonics overcame the loss of Kevin Durant to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-90 Saturday night.

The Sonics played the final three quarters without Durant, their leading scorer. The second pick in the 2007 draft, who is averaging 20.2 points, sprained his left index finger near the end of the first period. X-rays were negative, but Seattle held Durant out as a precaution.

If the Seattle SuperSonics move to Oklahoma City next season, do you think they should change their nickname? If so, what?
