I'm down with Yam's "let the 2 best teams" play regardless of Conference plan. I'd also like to see an attempt at a playoff re-seeding plan, make things more exciting for fans.

I've heard Stern say definitely no to that only because of TV contracts but it seems like that too could be worked out.

Personally I'd much prefer to see TNT do the broadcasts. They're much better at it than ABC/ESPN. That Pussycat Doll song/video is total crap as was the Rob Thomas garbage last year!

Factual that the geography takes away from having the best two teams play. Probably would have 12 of the 16 teams to make the playoffs from the West if you took the best teams. But unfortunately that's the way it works.

I'm really not in favor of the East-West matchup in the Finals. Let the two best teams, regardless of geography, play in the NBA Finals. Period.

I don't really pay much attention to which conference has that many contenders because in the end it'll be one each from each conference for all the marbles. Take the case last year, miami was the underdog yet they were the ones hoisting the championship trophy! It's not any different this year. upsets happen all the time. Look what the 2004 Pistons did to the mighty lakers with their 4 future hall of Famers! That was probably the most shocking Finals upset I've seen all my life! For me, it's all about confidence and matchups, confidence only come with experience, and whichever team has the matchup advantage and the coach and players know how to take advantage of it, then that team has a much better chance of winning it all!

The East is a bit better than last year, I believe, but the West still has 10 teams that could beat all but maybe 3 East teams. Argue for a NBA champ, and you might mention Detroit, Miami, and possibly Cleveland in the East. Now stack them up against Dallas, Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, and the rest, and it is just no comparison.
